Yes. Brass is mostly copper, so the two sit together without any problem, and they age in the same warm direction. The brass stays a little yellower than the copper around it, which most people find looks better than an exact match.
Dry the tap after use in a hard water area and scale barely forms. For build up, wipe on a mild descaler with a cloth, rinse it off quickly and dry it. On unlacquered brass that leaves a brighter patch for a few weeks, which blends back in.
The sink or the wall decides which taps can work. A sink or counter drilled with one hole takes a single hole tap. Two holes at a fixed spacing take a bridge tap, see brass bridge faucets.
