Before you buy

Brass here is usually a finish

Most pieces are plated or painted in a brass or copper finish. If you want solid unlacquered brass that will darken with age, check the material line on the listing, or look at the workshops on our site instead.

The return fee is real

Returns are open for 90 days, but they keep 10% of the refund and shipping is not refunded. Measure before you order.

Free shipping has limits

It covers ground shipping over $49 to the lower 48 states only. Large pieces that go by truck freight cost extra, and Alaska, Hawaii and Canada are quoted by phone.

Lead times are estimates

The date on a listing depends on stock at the brand. For a fitting date, call them on 1.800.544.4846 before you order.

Who 1-800Lighting are

1-800Lighting is the online shop of Capitol Lighting, a family owned lighting store that opened in Newark, New Jersey in 1924 and still runs showrooms in New Jersey and Florida. It is a large retailer, not a workshop, and it carries the big lighting brands rather than making its own. It is on our list for one reason: brass and copper finish pendants, sconces and vanity lights from brands you can compare model by model. Ground shipping is free on orders over $49 inside the lower 48 states, and returns run 90 days.

1-800Lighting questions

The things people ask us most about this store.

Does 1-800Lighting have a discount code right now?
Not a code, no. The offer right now needs none: Free Shipping Over $49, last checked 1 week ago. If a code appears and works in a real basket, it goes up here.
How often do you check these codes?
Each code shows the date we last took it to a real checkout, so you can see exactly how fresh the check is. Anything that stops working comes down as soon as we find out.
What if a code does not work for me?
Press No on the code and we will retest it. Terms change without warning at the store's end, and your votes are often how we find out first.
Do you get paid if I use a code?
Sometimes, and it makes no difference to what we list. A code goes up because it works, and comes down because it stopped. Nothing is ranked by what it pays.
