    How the calculator works

On a standard base cabinet being converted, the sink is about 3 in narrower than the cabinet, so a 33 in sink goes in a 36 in base. On a base built for a farmhouse sink, the inside width decides, and it can take a wider sink. For depth, the apron stands about 2 1/2 in proud of the cabinet front, and what is left behind the sink is the room for the faucet and supply lines.

Handmade sizes vary, so check the sink's own measurements with the workshop, and have it on site before the countertop is measured. It is fit guidance, not an installation plan.
